Things have been progressing fairly well for me this summer. Steady, yet not everyday work, keeping up with my comics and summer projects. But today, I just wasn't feeling the creative spark.
First off, I'm actually behind on some projects, simply because I've been playing way too many video games (the usual culprit). I wanted to do a comic where I was working on something when suddenly I'm bombarded with copies of Oblivion, Ghostbusters, and the Sonic's Ultimate Sega collection, but you know how DA is with copyright issues... >_< Not to mention, my good buddy
*sigh* well anyways, I've still managed to organize my time enough to make some progress on my biggest summer project. Its supposed to be a surprise (although a few of you have seen some sneak peeks hehe), but at this rate, I don't think it will be done in the time that I wanted it finished.
The base coloring is done (minus a few minor background touches), now I just have to shade. While base coloring was relatively simple I'm finding the shading to be the more difficult (and frustrating) task. Ive looked at a few tutorials, but it just seems so darn time-consuming! To my fellow artists, I ask where did you learn to shade? What's your favorite technique?
In any case, I also ask one more thing: Should I post the summer challenge (involves lineart) and give you all something to work on, or should I just suck it up and try my best to finish before the summer is over? I can also post my base coloring, but I figure a finished product would be better, right?

You cut him! You hurt him! You see! He's not a machine! He's a man!
Although I wont disagree with the greatness of the rocketman song (ever heard william shatner sing it? Pure comedy gold.)
